If you have concerns about the availability of Bennett Park due
to inclement weather, you can always check the Canterbury Council Hotline on: 9718 7666 Remember that the ground is not to be used for either training or any games if Canterbury Council has closed the ground.
When checking with the Canterbury Council Wet Weather line and it mentions parks are closed please do not presume your game has been cancelled. The Canterbury Districts Football Association (CDSFA) is borded by several councils. We implore you check with your Coach & Manager (who will be notified by our Clubs Secretary) prior to the weekend game when we have had inclement weather
If Bennett Park is closed, we will always endeavour to let you know ASAP through our web site and email.

In completing the 2010 Season there are a number of items that need to be finalised. Please contact an EC member ASAP to ensure you are aware of those items and we can complete these tasks in a timely manner.
“Congratulations to our 16/1 girls and AA Sunday teams who are playing in their grand finals this Sunday. We wish you all the best and no matter the result, we are all very proud of your achievements this season. Please get along to these games to cheer our teams on. Go the mighty raptors!!”
“Congratulations and commiserations to our AA2 and AA10 teams who played in their finals last Saturday. Unfortunately they were both beaten so have now finished their seasons. Although not able to go all the way to the grand final, they were very competitive all season and did our club proud. Special mention to our AA10’s who finished minor premiers. Hope to see you all back in 2011 wearing the green and gold”
“Congratulations to all teams who finished their seasons this weekend. I know you all played your hardest and did your club proud.
To our O35/1’s, AA7/B’s, 16/2 girls, 12/1 boys and 12/2 girls, 11/5 boys we look forward to seeing you back next year.
Congratulations to our 21/2’s, who won their grand final on Sunday. A great effort for a team who has been together for a number of years. Well done to Trevor Ratcliffe, George Hantzis and George Gouvatsos for keeping the team together, coaching and guiding them over the years. We look forward to seeing them play 21/1’s in 2011.”
Please note that all gear now needs to be returned. This includes playing strip, training balls, bibs, cones and ID cards. The club house will be open Saturday 28 August -12 noon-4:30pm. We will also open Wednesday 01 Sept 5:30pm- 7:00pm. Please make the effort to bring your gear back at these times. Thanks.
To clarify what happens in the event of rain ONCE THE FINALS SERIES HAS
COMMENCED:
If the semi finals were washed out this weekend(where we have 1v2 and 3v4) then next weekend the semi final would become 1v 4 and 2v3...all teams would still be in the mix.
If you are in a final this weekend(you have already played the semi finals) and it is washed out then it will be rescheduled for the after(21/22 August). The two teams will play again and the winner going to the grand final to meet the team who is already there.
If you are in a semifinal this weekend(1v2 and 3v4) and both are played and then NEXT weekend (21/22 August) is washed out then the winner of then the1v2 and the loser of 1v2(both highest ranked teams) will progress to the final...it will be a replay of the first game.
Good luck to all our teams, who play their semis this weekend...
(spectators & supporters always welcome!):
The 2010 season was a challenging one for soccer as a sport; however, it has exceeded expectations with outstanding success in our District with several teams making it to the semis.
Congratulations must also be extended to the coaching and players associated with these teams. The strength of our Grade competition continues to be as strong as ever.
.
GOOD LUCK to ALL!!
ONLY TEAM OFFICIALS THAT ARE REGISTERED AND POSSESS AN ID CARD ARE PERMITTED WITHIN THE TECHNICAL AREA / INSIDE ROPES / FENCE. GROUND OFFICIALS ARE TO ENSURE ONLY AUTHORISED PERSONS ACCESS THESE AREAS.
ID CARDS MUST BE DISPLAYED AND VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES!
Once a finals series has commenced:
We draw your attention to Rule 5.2.10, in particular the following:
“.... Where a player is eligible and wishes to player for a higher team under this Rule, the player must apply for and obtain his/her new ID card prior to taking the field in that finals match. ......”
This section was added to the Rules after last season. Any person that plays in any final MUST have an ID card for that team. Remember you can only play in one finals division.
Should a Club require a new ID card to be produced for a particular player:
A player that presents an ID card stating other than the age/division of the finals game they are about to play in will not be permitted to play. Should this player still play and is later found out to have played said player will be deemed ineligible and the game will be forfeited by the offending team. Whilst referees check cards prior to the game ultimately it is the CLUBS/TEAMS RESPONSIBILITY to ensure their players are playing in accordance with the rules of this competition.
The Association is receiving information at various levels of persons using tobacco products within the technical area. I will remind all of the following that was issued by FNSW in August 2004:
In addition to this there are also local council guidelines which much be adhered to on various grounds.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY – REFEREE’S WILL BE INSTRUCTED TO REMOVE ANY OFFENDER OF THE ABOVE FROM THE TECHNICAL AREA. SHOULD A TEAM OFFICIAL BE REMOVED FROM THE TECHNICAL AREA THEY ARE TO HAVE THEIR ID CARD TAKEN BY THE REFEREE AND WILL INCUR THE MADATORY 1-MATCH SUSPENSION BY THE ASSOCIATION AS A MINIMUM PENALTY. ADDITIONAL SANCTIONS/PENALTIES MAY BE IMPOSED. Any team official found to be in the technical area while under suspension will be stood down until further notice and the Club may be fined up to $250.00.
In recent weeks it has become apparent at many junior games that the behaviour of some spectators and team officials are bordering on what is acceptable and in some instances becoming very unacceptable. See attached pdf for more information:
Attached is a schedule of all games to be played.
Please check carefully to ensure that no games are missing.

Issue 11 of The Striker Out NOW!!!
...across all grades and ages we’d greatly appreciate all teams having a match report submitted. It takes just a few minutes and is enjoyed by most players and parents. With so many teams trying so hard to break into a winning run and others overcoming all sorts of difficulties, many people read all the match reports. Keep them coming and if you feel it appropriate to share the workload around, that’s ok, but we do ask that this be organised through your manager.
CAN’T FIND YOUR TEAMS MATCH REPORT LISTED IN THE FOLLOWING Striker?
Then refer to your teams coach or manager, chances are that they haven’t submitted one yet. It’s very simple to do... go to our home page, click on “Match report”... and fill in the blanks!!
We are currently seeking volunteers to help out with various tasks for the club during 2010. It is sometimes easy to neglect how much work is required to keep a successful club of this size running smoothly throughout the season. We ask that anyone that considers themselves able to help out in any capacity no matter how insignificant it may seem, please contact us.
Even the smallest amount of assistance is greatly appreciated and contributes significantly to the overall operation and success of Roselands FC

Parents!! please note as the season progresses we will progressively have earlier twilight times at Bennett Park during training. With less light, visibility is greatly reduced, and the carpark is full of children who may not always behave safely and predictably. Please slow down to accommodate these safety concerns, and watch out, kids about! Being on-time for training (or leaving quickly afterwards) is not important enough to justify risking our childrens' lives.
